Texas AWWA Creek Cleanup Sept-28

What: Texas American Water Works Association has adopted about half a mile of the creek that flows through Bartholomew Park as part of the Keep Austin Beautiful campaign to clean up the creeks in Austin.

Periodically they have a creek cleanup opportunity and the first is coming up in September after a well earned hiatus during the brutal summer heat.

When: September 28 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM

Where: Meet us at the Bartholomew Pool Parking Lot 1800 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723

How: Sign-Up or Show-Up.

• Wear sun screen and bug spray. They usually provide bug-spray and sun-screen but it’s probably a good idea to bring your own if you want to be sure you’re covered.
• Wear long pants because there may still be poison ivy
• Wear sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting wet or potentially muddy because we will be working near the creek.
• Garden Gloves are also a good idea.
